Ciudad Obregon shares the same time zone as its state Sonora, which is shared by the Arizona border of USA and Mexico. Unlike most places in the world that adhere moving the clock time forward or behind 1 hour for DST (Daylight Saving Time) Sonora does not move its clocks at all during the year!

The main summer holiday is about 8 weeks from mid-June to late August. Children also have two weeks holiday at Christmas and at Easter. Exact dates vary between each education authority.
